RentBiz ("we", "us", or "our") operates as a Shopify app that provides rental management, booking, and AI-assisted quote tools for Shopify merchants.

1. Information We Collect

• Shop domain and Shopify access tokens
• App settings and configuration data
• Booking records: customer name, email, phone, event date, address, items rented
• Quote requests submitted via storefront chat or quote form
• Draft order and order IDs from Shopify
• App usage logs for debugging and support

2. How We Use Information

• To operate and deliver RentBiz features
• To create and manage draft orders and bookings within Shopify
• To send transactional emails via Resend
• To provide AI-assisted rental quotes via Google Gemini API
• To process subscription payments via Shopify Billing API
• To improve the app and troubleshoot issues

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with these service providers:

• Shopify — platform operator
• Fly.io — cloud hosting and database
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Google Gemini API — AI chat processing

4. Data Retention

Data is retained while the merchant's account is active. On uninstall, shop data is deleted within 48 hours per Shopify GDPR requirements.

5. Your Rights

We honor Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction. To request data access or deletion, contact us below.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, environment-variable-based secret management, and HMAC signature verification for all Shopify webhook and proxy requests.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
